COP26

The UK in partnership with Italy will be hosting the UN Climate Change Conference - COP26 - on 1-12 November 2021 in Glasgow.

Alongside the UNFCCC negotiations, the UK will pursue real world climate action by bringing together governments, businesses and civil society to drive global climate ambition and make progress on five policy themes: Clean Road Transport, Energy Transitions, Adaptation & Resilience, Finance, and Nature-Based Solutions.

What can business do?

Business leadership remains vitally important for tackling climate change, leading the way to awards a Green Recovery and achieving a successful COP26 summit and presidency. The global low carbon transition is accelerating, and businesses are central to this.

Many companies around the world are already stepping up and raising ambitions. Countries and organisations aiming for net zero already cover nearly 70% of GDP. Setting ambitious and credible net zero commitments sends the strongest signal to markets, supply chains, governments and consumers that businesses are committed to the transition.

How can you get involved?

Businesses can sign up to Science Based Targets via the ‘Business Ambition for 1.5°C’. By setting a net-zero target in line with a 1.5°C future — our only future — businesses can make their critical contribution to limiting the worst impacts of climate change. SMEs can join the Race to Zero via the SME Climate Hub.

Get involved: Sign up to the Race to Zero.
